Hey sex fans,
Before we get started today, I want to remind you that today is National Coming Out Day! Today thousands of us gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and our allies celebrate being out and proud; with workshops, speak-outs, rallies and other events in towns and on campuses all over the world. The aim is to show the public that LGBT people are everywhere. This is of particular importance this year, in light of the spate of emotional and physical violence against our young sisters and brothers; as well as the alarming rate of suicide that results from this barrage of hate. Won’t you please join me in stepping up and standing for sexual freedom and tolerance? The world will be a much better place; I promise you.
So alrighty then, guess who is waiting in the wings? If you guessed the humorist, author and a marvelous conversationalist, Polly Frost; then you’d be absolutely right. It would also mean you’ve been paying attention, because this is Part 2 of our conversation for The Erotic Mind series.
But, if you didn’t guess it was Polly, then that tells me you may have missed Part 1 of our insightful conversation. Ya know If ya snooze ya lose! Actually, that’s not completely true, because all of my podcast are archived here on my site. Use the search function in the header, type in Podcast #235 and Voilà. Just remember to include the #sign when you do your search.
Polly and I discuss:
- The Fold — a sci-fi burlesque webseries;
- With One Eye Open;
- Humor in erotica, a very subversive act;
- How humor humanizes;
- Her creative process;
- The arc of a humorous story;
- Encouraging other erotic authors to exercise their humor muscles;
- The difficult balancing act — making ‘em laugh and turning ‘em on.
- Her sexual heroes.
Polly will share another delectable selection of the fruit of her Erotic Mind. This week she’ll read from Deep Inside.
For all things Polly, be sure to visit her site HERE!
